LET’S MAXIMIZE THE USE OF YOUR GOOGLE MY BUSINESS LISTING:
Photos enhance your listing by giving a potential customer a real feel for what you have to offer.
If you sell a product, be sure to have plenty of product photos. If you are a restaurant, be sure your best food and ambiance photos are posted to your Listing.
ASK FOR REVIEWS
When I was at my orthodontist’ office for my daughter’s recent appointment, the business manager asked me directly “will you post a review if I send you a link right now?” They had my mobile phone number and texted me a link. It took me as long to post my review as it did for the receptionist to offer me the next available date for our next appointment.
Come up with unique incentives to ask your customers to post reviews like a points system for customers, prizing or contests, even coupons or discounts.
Be sure to respond to negative reviews immediately in a positive and appreciative way.
SYNC UP WITH OTHER PLATFORMS
Google looks for reviews on other platforms, like Facebook. Make sure your business name is the same on your Business Listing and on Facebook so the Google bots can find and compile them all for you, like this:
UPDATE YOUR HOURS
Make sure you keep your hours of operation updated and current, including any holidays or special opening or closing times so that when someone visits, the hours are accurate.
There is nothing worse for a customer than showing up at the business when it’s closed when it stated it would be open.
EMBED YOUR GOOGLE MAP ON YOUR WEBSITE
Search your business name while in Google Maps. Once you have found it click on three lines beside your business name in the search bar on the top left. Then you can click on “Share or Embed Map”.
Once that is selected, click the embed map option at the top of the pop-up box. Then copy the iframe code and paste it into your contact page.
COMPLETE YOUR ENTIRE PROFILE
Make sure your address, phone number, hours, website, everything in your profile is complete for the best visibility possible.
ENSURE YOU’RE LISTED EVERYWHERE
Be sure your business is also listed on other sites like Yellow Pages and Yelp for validity. Google knows and sees all.
